Castell d'Encus Thalarn is een wijn uit Costers del Segre

De Thalarn is een van de meest expressieve Syrah wijnen uit Spanje en vernoemd naar de naam van de plaats waar Castell D'Encus is gevestigd. De wijn rijpt 12 maanden op Frans eikenhout, maar blijft ondergeschikt aan het kruidige karakter van de Syrah. Mooie aroma's van zwart fruit, leer, cacao, kruiden en een hint mineralen. Door de gepolijste tannines is het mondgevoel erg fijn en de goede zuurgraad zorgt voor wat pit en lengte. 

Mooi op dronk, maar kan zich tenminstetot 2024 nog verder ontwikkelen. Serveertemperatuur: 16°C.

"The meaty and smoky 2017 Thalarn shows Syrah typicity, some flower and bacon aromas and hints of tar. It has a medium-bodied palate that combines volume with freshness. It has vibrant acidity that makes it long and tasty, with clean and focused flavors, showing the variety. This matured in new barriques, yet the oak is perfectly integrated in the wine. 9,900 bottles and 100 magnums were filled in January 2019."
