Parker: Aalto is one of the icons of modern Ribera del Duero, famous for their exuberant, ripe and generously oaked reds. It's owned by the Nozaleda and Masaveu families and winemaker Marian García of Mauro (et al.) fame. They control 130 hectares of vineyards in nine different villages

Aalto blanc heeft kort gerijpt op Frans eiken vaten van 500 liter.
Elegante frisse wijn, mooi wit fruit, ondersteund door vanilletonen. Dus geen heftige wijn maar juist een verfijnde wijn.
Op dronk, maar kan zich tenminste tot 2026 nog verder ontwikkelen.

The style of the 2021 Blanco de Parcela Fuente de las Hontanillas is as far removed from the style of the reds as possible. You'd expect a sensual, ripe, generous and oaky white à la Kistler or similar, but this is delicate, low in alcohol (12.5%), soft, young and tender with an appley nose and a light and austere palate with pungent flavors and acidity (pH 3.0 and 6.92 grams of acidity). It's a blend of Verdejo and Albillo that matured in barrel for 10 months, but the oak is unnoticeable. It was bottled in September 2022.
